Trained and licensed as a clinical psychologist in California, Dr. Rachel Ting will share about her journey in Western psychology education and challenges she faced when trying to “bring psychology home” to Asia region, especially in the disaster zones. She will present her works with the Chinese ethnic minorities group as a humanitarian volunteer and founder of Barefoot Voluntary Service Group in China over the past decade. Finally she will talk about what brings her back to the academic life as a devout indigenous psychology researcher in Asian world.
